How to update my client's Risk Tolerance Questionnaire (RTQ)

If you need to update your client's risk tolerance , there are two (potentially three) steps. The first two have to do with updating the RTQ on file. The third step comes into play if you want to change how the account is being traded.

  1. Use My Advice Architect® to update the risk assessment on file with Cetera,
  2. Complete the MAA Goal Modification in AdviceWorks® to obtain a client signature.
  3. If necessary, update your client's FLD / Symplany℠ One account to align with the new target allocation.

Note: if the account is within 20% of the RTQ on file, Cetera may deem the account compliant.

This article walks through all three steps in the process.

  1. Pull up the client's account.
  2. Under the "Bucket" tab, click the pencil icon to make changes.
  3. Use the drop down menu to select your allocation.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Go to the Trade page and click "Trade..."
  6. In the popup window, click "Confirm and send."
