My Advice Architect® - Modify Strategy

Converting an existing Core IA account (e.g. Spectrum, Freedom, etc.) to FLD requires three tasks:

  1. Create a new account in Symplany℠ One
  2. Modify the strategy in My Advice Architect® (MAA)
  3. Complete the MAA Goal Modification in AdviceWorks® (AW)

**If you're looking to open a new FLD account, click here.**

This article walks through how to modify the strategy in MAA

NSInvestments can help answer any account opening questions you have.

  2. Under the “Service” tab, click the plus sign to get a drop down menu
  3. Select “Modify Strategy”

Step 2 - Update the program code

  1. Under Account Strategy, where it shows the current Investment product, click Discard

  2. Next, click Select an existing strategy

  1. In the popup window, choose Spectrum Advisor-FLD and click Start selecting

Step 3 - Select your investment model

Select the model that starts with "FLD" (FLD - Moderate (60/40), for example)

Step 4 - Confirm the fee schedule.

⚠️ When changing program codes (e.g. from Freedom to FLD), the advisor fee schedule gets reset to a default 1% for all tiers.

    1. We get a lot of questions about what to enter here. Feel free to reach out
    2. The Client Fee has three components
      1. Advisor fee
      2. Spectrum fee (i.e. Program Fee)
      3. FLD fee (i.e. Other Fee)
    3. MAA lets you edit the Advisor fee, not the total Client fee.

If you want help calculating your fee schedule, check out this helpful tool: FLD Fee Schedule Calculator

To update your fee schedule, click the pencil icon.

Step 5 - Generate documents

  1. Under Summary > Next steps, click Generate Documents

This completes the steps to modify a strategy in My Advice Architect®.

Your last step is to complete the MAA Goal Modification in AdviceWorks® (AW) to obtain necessary signatures.
